Question by www.latinunit.net: Anyone know any technology similar to Cloud Computing?
Just what the title says, Any technology similar to cloud computing?? I know that in the 1990s some organizations known as ASPs used the same concept but at the time it didnt kick off due to the lack of internet speed, bandwidth and stability

The closest thing I can think of was called “thin client”. Pretty recent, too.

Before that, the same concept was called “client-server”.

Going all the way back to the 1960s, you had dumb terminals connected to mainframes.

The only thing new in “cloud computing” is the provision of service from third-party servers, over the public Internet.

Has anyone tried cloud hosting?

Question by Billy: Has anyone tried cloud hosting?
I am currently using a free hosting service, 000webhost. But it’s really not good enough so I’m looking for a paid hosting service. Cloud hosting seems like an interesting option and it seems cheap. Has anyone used it before?

Many Thanks

Cloud Hosting is a great option because it gives you the option to scale instantly if you get a traffic spike. Most cloud hosting company’s also have your files on multiple server across the country or world for faster load times of your content.
