A new partnership between Tenzing Managed IT Services and Alert Logic is aiming to bring more stringent security to the private cloud space.
The partnership will focus on intrusion detection and vulnerability notification set by the Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standard, a global security standard designed to stop the proliferation of online credit card fraud. The company hopes that this will ease the security apprehensions that clients may have as they bring their systems into the cloud via the Tenzing’s hosted solutions.
This new partnership will allow Tenzing to incorporate Alert Logic’s detection software within its cloud based platform, allowing customer to comply with PCI (News – Alert)-DSS standards without having to purchase additional security solutions.
“PCI compliance is a huge expense for customers and service providers alike,” said Gray Hall, president and CEO of Alert Logic. “By partnering with Alert Logic, Tenzing adds an affordable security and compliance solution to their overall portfolio to help customers realize the full benefit of moving IT infrastructure to the cloud.”
“Tenzing has a proud history of working with best-of-breed partners to deliver optimal solutions that address an increasing number of challenges for our customers, including regulatory compliance,” said Kelly Beardmore, CTO at Tenzing. “The addition of Alert Logic’s intrusion detection and proactive threat management greatly complements our existing security services and together we provide customers with peace of mind.”
Through Alert Logic, Tenzing will offer Payment Card Industry (PCI) vulnerability assessments for clients required to use PCI-DSS. Alert Logic is an Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) by the PCI Security Standards Council. An ASV will allow Tenzing customers to evaluate the security of their systems and provide reports to prove compliance to auditors thereby helping them in achieving compliance with PCI-DSS.
This partnership adds to an already busy year for Tenzing, which in September announced the appointment of a new Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Randy Fougere “Randy brings a unique combination of senior level technology-related skills that will play a key role in helping Tenzing achieve our strategic goals in the SaaS (News – Alert) and Ecommerce markets,” says Brian Shepard, founder and CEO of Tenzing. “As a rapidly growing company in managed hosting, Tenzing will benefit from his proven experience in driving highly successful go-to-market and retention strategies. He has a solid reputation in the industry for his hands-on approach and ability to deliver results.”
The news of the Alert Logic partnership, coupled with these big moves at the top levels of Tenzing, are not surprising given the rampant growth of private cloud sector over the past several years. With the ability to assimilate and offer new and dynamic utilities to customers opting for a hosted solutions, Tenzing and the private cloud hosting market in general are likely to continue to grow exponentially.
